߲ݴý Employee Resource Group Building Path to Freedom for People with Disabilities

Have you ever changed a life in a single morning? That’s the mission behind ߲ݴý’s partnership with a nonprofit building ramps for lower-income adults who use wheelchairs or assistive devices.

The partnership began in 2022 when leaders of the ߲ݴýbility employee resource group heard about the nonprofit’s work. It was a natural fit for ߲ݴýbility, which is working to increase disability awareness and develop a more accessible culture – at ߲ݴý and in the communities we serve.

In less than two years, more than 100 ߲ݴý employees have donated their time to build 16 ramps.

While the ramps make coming and going easier, they also represent much more to many families – freedom. One recipient had not left her home for two years and was looking forward to her first trip back to the park. Caregivers are also relieved to have a safer, less strenuous alternative to assist their loved ones.

“Our members are building an inclusive culture both inside ߲ݴý and within the communities we serve,” said ߲ݴýbility Executive Sponsor Cynthia Vodopivec. “Our work with the Texas Ramp Project aligns with our purpose at ߲ݴý – lighting up lives, powering a better way forward. We are proud to play a part in making the world more accessible.”
